Verdi's Rigoletto on a Floating Stage, Bregenz, Lake Constance and Hiking in Au, Austria

Annette and I spent a week in the South of Germany and the West of Austria. We stayed in Lindau, Lake Constance, Germany and in Au, Bregenzerwald, Austria. On the tour, we also were in Switzerland.

Rigoletto in Bregenz

Annette and I enjoyed a spectacular performance of Rigoletto in Bregenz, Austria, with the stage floating on Lake Constance. We started the amazing evening with an early dinner in Lindau/ Germany. A ferry brought us to the Opera House in Bregenz/ Austria, with a glass of Champagne preparing everyone for what was to come. After the performance the ferry took us back to Lindau were we ended the evening with a bottle of Italian red wine at a harbour restaurant.

Tour by Boat and Train: Rorschach (Switzerland) - Bregenz (Austria) - Lindau (Germany)

Hiking in Au (Bregenzer Wald)

We stayed at Hotel Krone and had half-board. The food was excellent, in my judgement 13 to 14 points Gault and Millau. The wine list was Austrian wines only and also excellent.
