...we had lunch at Landgasthof Zur Traube in Meddersheim, Nahe. Former Michelin-starred Chef Herbert Langendorf (Ente vom Lehel in Wiesbaden) cooks here. The restaurant is just around the corner of Weingut Hexamer, which we visited the year before:
Chef Herbert Langendorf
Herbert Langendorf became known in the restaurant scene during his time at the Ente vom Lehel, first under Hans-Peter Wodartz and then as the Executive Chef himself. The Ente vom Lehel has been Michelin-starred since 1979, when it opened after Hans-Peter Wodartz moved his restaurant Ente im Lehel from Munich to Wiesbaden and renamed it Ente vom Lehel. Wodartz left in 1990 and his #2 Herbert Langendorf took over. Herbert Langendorf stayed and defended the Michelin star until 1998, when he opened with his wife Ingrid Langasthof Zur Traube in the Nahe region.
Today, the Executive Chef at the Ente vom Lehel is Michael Kammermeier, who was the Souschef of Herbert Langendorf at the Ente vom Lehel between 1990 and 1992.
