Picture: The Speakers of the Video, including Christian G.E.Schiller
Confused by German Wine Terminology? The DWI (Deutsches Wein Institute) in Mainz has produced a video that might help you! It's not surprising that German wine terms often leave people floundering. The words are sometimes long with a string of consonants that non-Germans tend to have difficulty wrapping their tongues around. However, help is at hand with a video from the DWI that not only tells you how to pronounce the words but also what the terms mean.
The purpose of the video is to assist non-German wine lovers to pronounce the most important terms of German wines correctly and I was part of the project. From A - Z, a number of prominent - like winemaker Dirk Wuertz and DWI Boss Monika Reule - and less prominent speakers pronounce 3 dozens or so of key German wine terms, like Spaetlese, Qualitaetswein and Spaetburgunder. It starts with Ahr and ends with Württemberg, two of Germany's wine regions.
Look for Grauburgunder and Rheingau - I am the speaker. I am at seconds 112 and 220. The scenes with me and others were shot during the German Twitter Wine Awards in the Kaiserstuhl region late last year. I have written about it here.

For those, who want more, here is a video with take outs, i.e. material that was not used in the final video.
