Did you know there are 13 wine regions in Germany? Join us and our guest Speaker Annette Schiller as she takes us on a journey through all 13 regions.

Some of you know Annette from taking her sessions at the AWS wine conference for the past 13 years.

Many in the wine world know her throughout the Washington, DC area and Europe for her expertise.

Although Germany is the No.1 producer of Riesling world wide there are many other prominent grape varieties for us to discover.

There will be a traditional German meal served immediately following the tasting. Cost for food, wine and incidentals is $55 per person.

Join us in two weeks when we gather in Allentown to discover the wine world of Germany. This is a high end tasting with wines from producers in the top 20 tier of German winemakers and in the upper echelon of the quality ladder: Grand Cru, Premier Cru, and village level.

At this point – two weeks to the date of the tasting – there are a few slots left. Hurry up and sign up for this extraordinary wine class you certainly do not want to miss.

Magnificent Germany: A deep Dive into the rich tapestry of Germany’s wine regions renowned for its historic significance and signature grape “Riesling”.

Plunging into German wines is like a great high dive into a pool of dazzling wines — graceful, complex and utterly delicious. It is the grapes that act as interpreters to translate the spectrum of aromas and flavors provided by the soils where they grow.

At this wine tasting we travel through 8 of the 13 German wine regions from the northernmost German wine region at 51° of latitude to the southernmost wine region almost at the latitude of Burgundy. We will learn about the basics of the German wine world; the classification of German wine, why the same Riesling wine can made bone dry or fruity sweet, and we’ll learn about and taste Germany`s signature red grape, Spätburgunder (Pinot Noir), and how that wine varies between terroirs composed of slate versus limestone.

We spent 10 days visiting top wine estates in five wine regions, tasting fabulous Rieslings and Pinot Noir (aka Spätburgunder), meeting world-renowned wine makers, travelling through the world’smost beautiful wine regions, cruising on the romantic Rhein river, looking at dizzying steep vineyards along the Rhein and Mosel rivers, and delving deep into German history and culture: Rheinhessen • Rheingau • Mittelrhein • Mosel • Nahe

At the end of the tour, I released 10 postings on facebook, providing a day-by-day overview of the tour. This posting combines the 10 facebook postings, with up to 3 photos per event.
