25 Years of Weinfeder German Wine Publicists

With new statutes and new board in anniversary year: In the anniversary year, a fresh wind is blowing through our association: At the general meeting, we not only decided on a modernized statute, but also reorganized the board. What began in 2000 in the Eulenmühle in Ingelheim with twelve passionate wine journalists is now a dynamic community of wine publicists.

Wolfgang Junglas, who has shaped the association from the very beginning, was reconfirmed as chairman. At his side: Heiko - Torsten Jürgen Taudien as the new deputy, Michael A. Else as a proven treasurer and Claudia Stern wine and glory as the new secretary.

The team is completed by our committed assessors Britta Binzer, Marcel Friederich, Rudolf Knoll, Robert Lönarz and Arthur Wirtzfeld, as well as Christian Schiller as auditors.

Christian Schiller: Re-elected to the Board of the "Weinfeder", the Association of German Wine Journalists (January 2025)

The "Weinfeder e.V.", the association of German wine journalists had its Annual Membership Meeting recently (online), at which a new board was elected. Chairman remains Wolfgang Junglas, vice chairman is Dr. Heiko-Torsten Taudien, Michael Else was confirmed as treasurer, new secretary is Claudia Stern. Britta Binzer, Marcel Friederich, Rudolf Knoll, Robert Lönarz and Arthur Wirtzfeld were elected as members of the board. Christian Schiller was confirmed as the "Kassenprüfer"/ cash auditor.

The Weinfeder e.V. is a member of the FIJEV (Fédération Internationale des Journalistes et Ecrivains des Vin et Spiritueux/ International Federation of Wine and Spirits Journalists and Writers).

The Weinfeder e.V. is the association of German wine journalists: "Ein Zusammenschluss von Journalisten, Redakteuren, Autoren, Fotografen, Moderatoren, Lektoren, Textern, Grafikern, Dozenten, Bloggern sowie Personen aller Berufszweige in Sachen Wein, die in den Bereichen Print und/oder Online publizistisch tätig sind".

Weinfeder e.V.: "Wir lieben und schreiben Weingeschichten – zu lesen im Weinfeder Journal. Wir verkosten Weine und bieten faire Weinkritik. Wir besuchen führende Weinmessen ebenso wie regionale Weinevents. Wir rezensieren Weinliteratur und spiegeln Weinkultur. Wir begleiten Weinernten, Weinkellerarbeit und informieren über neueste önologische Trends. Wir reisen in bekannte und unbekannte Weinregionen, entdecken Winzertalente, portraitieren Weinpersönlichkeiten.“

The "Weinfeder e.V." is the association of German wine journalists: "Ein Zusammenschluss von Journalisten, Redakteuren, Autoren, Fotografen, Moderatoren, Lektoren, Textern, Grafikern, Dozenten, Bloggern sowie Personen aller Berufszweige in Sachen Wein, die in den Bereichen Print und/oder Online publizistisch tätig sind".

It had its Annual Membership Meeting recently, at which a new board was elected: The previous board is also the new board.

I am happy to report that I was re-elected to the board, as the "Kassenprüfer"/ cash auditor.

The Weinfeder e.V. is a member of the FIJEV (Fédération Internationale des Journalistes et Ecrivains des Vin et Spiritueux/ International Federation of Wine and Spirits Journalists and Writers).

On September 30, 2020, Annette Schiller and I attended an award ceremony of the Weinfeder e.V., the association of German wine journalists. The event took place at Weingut Josef Spreitzer in the Rheingau. Weinfeder President Wolfgang Junglas moderated the event. Currently, I am the Kassenprüfer/ Cash Auditor of the Weinfeder.

"Weinpersönlichkeit des Jahres"/ Wine Personality of the Year: Georg Prinz zur Lippe, Weingut Schloss Proschwitz

The "Weinpersönlichkeit des Jahres"/ Wine Personality of the Year Award went to Georg Prinz zur Lippe, owner of Weingut Schloss Proschwitz in Sachsen. Rudolf Knoll gave the laudation.

Weingut Schloss Proschwitz is a leading producer in Sachsen, near Dresden. We have visited Weingut Schloss Proschwitz a number of times on the Germany East Tour by ombiasy WineTours, which, the last time, started in Berlin and ended in Frankfurt, visiting Sachsen, Saale Unstrut, Franken and Württemberg. I think whenever we went there, the visit also included dinner with Georg Prinz zur Lippe. It is fascinating listening to him when he talks about how he re-established Weingut Schloss Proschwitz following the German reunification.
