8-course Dinner - Served Family-style - at Nana Convivial Italian Kitchen, a new High-end Italian Restaurant in Frankfurt, Germany (May 2025)

Naná: "Ciao a tutti! Naná stands for refined taste, precision, and heartfelt hospitality. Founded by @salvo_maggiore_chef & @williamvitale93 , this fine dining experience in Frankfurt’s Westend is where culinary excellence meets timeless elegance."

At Grueneburgweg 95 in Frankfurt, Germany, where the poet Heinrich Hoffmann and composer Engelbert Humperdinck used to live and MICHELIN Guide-starred Chef Alfred Friedrich used to cook at Restaurant Humperdinck (at the time Frankfurt"s best restaurant), there is now since a year the Italian Restaurant Nana Convivial Italian Kitchen.

It is not a traditional Italian neighborhood restaurant, but a high-end restaurant that clearly has the ambition of reaching the level of Restaurant Carmelo Greco, the leading Italian restaurant in Frankfurt (1 star Michelin).

Yesterday, the Frankfurt Gourmet Group (there were 7 of us including Annette Schiller Ombiasy Public Relations and Wine Tours and myself) had their monthly wine dinner there. We had 8 courses - all three starters and all three mains as well as one pasta and one dessert from the à la carte menu, served "family-style" and 8 bottles of wine, which came to Euro 250 plus tip per person.

Behind Nana are William Vitale, General Manager and head of the service, Andrea Milicia and Executive Chef Salvo Maggiore. Before moving to Frankfurt, Chef Salvo cooked several years in a Michelin-starred restaurant in Sicily.

Ending the evening with a grappa, we were the last to leave the restaurant after a most delightful dinner with creative, top-level dishes and convincing Italian wines.

Annette Schiller: This was a sensational evening: Italian dishes reinvented with first class products and creativity. Everything was an eye candy and utterly delicious.

For a more substantial review, Dirk Eisel and Volkan Krabbenfischer just published a review of the restaurant in THE FRANKFURTER
