Dear wine friends,
It is just four weeks until the wine tour to the Southern German and Alsatian wine regions start.
Hotel
reservations for these tours need to be made well in advance - more
than 6 months earlier. Since I never know how many singles and how many
couples join the tours I always reserve enough rooms to accommodate
every possibility.
At this point I have one
room left (single or double occupancy). I do have to cancel this room by
June 8th to avoid penalty charges.
I would
like to let my wine friends know about this fantastic tour. This year
the tour schedule reads like the Who is Who of the winemaker scene in
these regions. The tour starts in Mainz. On the first half day we visit
winery Helmut Dönnhoff and winery Wagner-Stempel in the Nahe and
Rheinhessen region, then we travel to southern Rheinhessen and all the
way south to the border with Alsace where we visit winery Jülg. That day
we cross the Rhine river to the Baden area and will spend the night in
glamorous Baden-Baden. We visit two wineries in the Ortenau region of
Baden and will have lunch in a very cosy Black Forest tavern. We go
south to the Kaiserstuhl region and explore Germany's historic Pinot
Noir region. We again cross the Rhein river and travel to Alsace. We
will spend three full days in this breathtakingly beautiful region, and
will visit 7 wineries and eat twice at 1 Michelin starred restaurants.
We go back north to the Pfalz wine region, where we visit iconic
wineries such as Rebholz and Bürklin-Wolf among others, and end our tour
in Mainz where we started.
Don’t
hesitate to call me at my US cell phone (I am currently home in McLean,
VA) or send me an email with all questions who may have.
Cheers
Annette
