Excellent Dim Sum lunch at Madame Mei in Frankfurt downtown with my daughter Cornelia Schiller Tremann and her husband Chris Tremann who lived for 3 years in China.

Dim Sum (AI) 

Dim sum is a style of Cantonese cuisine consisting of small, bite-sized portions of food, typically served in steamer baskets or on small plates, often accompanied by tea. The term "dim sum" literally translates to "touch the heart," reflecting the idea that these dishes are meant to be savored and enjoyed. It's a popular brunch or lunch option, featuring a wide array of dumplings, buns, rolls, and other savory and sweet treats.

    Yum cha generally involves small portions of steamed, pan-fried, and deep-fried dim sum dishes served in bamboo steamers, which are designed to be eaten communally and washed down with tea. People often go to yum cha in large groups for family get-togethers or celebrations.​

    The practice is popular in Cantonese-speaking regions, including Guangdong, Guangxi, Hong Kong and Macau. It is also carried out in other regions worldwide where there are overseas Chinese communities.​
