Dear wine friends,

These greetings are sent from Germany. At the end of last week I came back from a Tuscany tour where we tasted our way through Chianti Classico, Montalcino, Montepulciano, and Bolgheri. The group dynamics were fantastic. It is difficult to pinpoint to a highlight. All wineries received us with open arms.  

After a week of reorganizing myself I am on tour again tomorrow through seven German wine regions north and east of Frankfurt. The group met tonight and we started out with a wonderful wine pairing dinner at our local hangout in Frankfurt. The heat wave over Central Europe is supposed to come to an end tomorrow, so we get lucky traveling at some more moderate temperatures. 

This Sunday greeting will be brief: I want to alert you to the last double room and the last single room I have left for the wine tour through Alto Adige, Trentino and a day in the Veneto region to taste great Amarone wines. This tour runs September 06 - September 13 and we will stay 7 nights at the same place, the wonderful Art Nouveau hotel Laurin in Bozen. Distances are not too far from Bozen and we can come back every night to our wonderful place in Bozen.
