Annette and I enjoyed an excellent Burgundy Wine Dinner at Bastille Brasserie and Bar in Alexandria. The wines were provided by Wine Traditions of Ad Addiss and Barbara Selig.

We had not been at Bastille Brasserie for a while, but we have been there many times since Chefs Christophe & Michelle Poteaux opened Bastille in 2006. Christoph and Michelle were both working at the Watergate Hotel before they opened Bastille.

Bringing the flavors and aromas of France to Old Town Alexandria, Bastille Brasserie and Bar is a popular family-owned restaurant which has been pleasing palates since 2006. The restaurant is owned by chefs Christophe and Michelle Poteaux, who bring their own unique twist to traditional French bistro dishes, inspired by whatever is fresh and seasonal. You can choose to dine at an intimate table for two in the dining room or opt to enjoy a lighter meal at the bar.

Wine Traditions: Created in 1996 by Edward Addiss and Barbara Selig, the philosophy of Wine Traditions is to discover independent winemakers whose passion for their vineyard and mastery of their winemaking craft combine to create a product that is a beautiful expression of the land from which it comes. They believe their portfolio demonstrates that wonderful wines can be found beyond well-known appellations and need not be overpriced. For them, wine is meant to be enjoyed with dinner, every day and at prices that make it an appropriate component of the meal.
