There is a Sancerre Boom in the USA. Sancerre - the crisp, mineral-driven white wine from the central Loire valley in France made from 100% Sauvignon Blanc - is a very popular white wine in the USA. Sancerre is a staple by-the-glass and bottle option of upscale and casual-upmarket venues across the USA. As a result, half of all white Sancerre production is exported to the USA and prices have climbed sharply in recent years.
Doug House of Chain Bridge Cellars presented 7 outstanding Sancerres, mostly in the US$50 to 60 range. His presentations are always very educational and entertaining.
